Update: No price hike for 24-hour Disneyland day
Posted: January 1st, 2012 | Author: Sherry Barkas | Filed under: Happiest Blog on Earth | Tags: disneyparks.go.com, fb.disneyparks.comThere’s no additional or special admission charge or ticket for Disneyland’s 24-hour Leap Year event next month, according to the “Disney Insider” newsletter emailed to theme park annual passholders.
Any valid ticket good for one-day admission to that Disneyland will do, including Magic Your Way one-day and multi-day theme park tickets, and annual or seasonal passes, according to the newsletter.
The only thing that could hamper your getting in is if the park reaches capacity, as happened on New Year’s Eve when a coworker said anyone arriving at the park’s admission gates after 6 p.m. were turned away.
In honor of Leap Year, the Anaheim theme park and Walt Disney World in Florida will be open from 6 a.m. Feb. 29 to 6 a.m. March 1.
The announcement was made during “Dick Clark’s Near Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2012’’ on ABC Saturday night, as well as the Disneyland Facebook page, fb.disneyparks.com.
It’s the second time Disneyland has been open a full 24 hours. The park was open around the clock to celebrate the opening of Star Tours in 1987, according to Disney Insider.
But this is the first time that parks in California and Florida have stayed open 24 hours.
Leap Day is on a Wednesday this year. A regular admission ticket to Disneyland is $80 for adults and children above 9, and $74 for children 3 to 9 years old.
Leading up to Leap Day, the theme parks are awarding sweepstakes prizes with daily prizes of a vacation for four at either Disneyland Resort in California or Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Enter the contests online at disneyparks.com or by texting “disneyday” to 347639 (“DISNEY”).
